About the Project

The “Learn Non-Formally” Erasmus+ training course was held in Ramnicu Valcea, Romania, hosted by AIDE. The project aimed to bring together 24 youth workers from different European countries to explore the impact of non-formal education within youth work.

During the eight-day program, which took place between August 14–21, 2024, participants examined the differences between formal, non-formal, and informal learning, experimented with new methods to work more effectively with young people, and improved their professional skills.

The project focused particularly on supporting the social inclusion of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Participants, consisting of volunteers, coordinators, and teachers, tested different non-formal education methods tailored to the needs of their own institutions, shared best practices, and gained practical experience in youth work.

One of the key outcomes of the program has been the development of digital competencies. Participants have prepared a joint brochure to demonstrate how digital tools can be integrated into educational activities.

The training course also placed a strong emphasis on intercultural learning. Through cultural evenings, traditional dances, games, and energizing activities, participants shared their cultural heritage and gained awareness of mutual respect, active citizenship, and international cooperation.
