About the Project

The “From Needle to Thread” Erasmus+ youth exchange took place in Campofranco and Sutera in Sicily, Italy. The project brought together young participants aged 18–25 from Italy, Poland, Turkey, Georgia, Latvia, and Romania, focusing on the environmental impact of the textile and fashion industry.

Run from July 11–16, 2025, the project aimed to help young people develop sustainable production and consumption habits, raise awareness about textile waste, and strengthen their sense of environmental responsibility.

Participants improved their knowledge and skills in eco-design, circular economy, textile waste management, recycling, and sustainable fashion. Through hands-on activities, young people not only learned about environmental problems but also experienced creative and sustainable approaches to finding solutions.

“From Needle to Thread” aimed to develop participants' green skills and promote environmentally conscious lifestyles. Throughout the project, young people gained experience in intercultural learning, collaboration, solidarity, and active European citizenship by working alongside peers from different countries.

At the end of the project, participants returned to their local communities with increased awareness of sustainable fashion, eco-friendly production, textile recycling, and environmental responsibility. Learning outcomes were documented with the Youthpass Certificate.
